Every mahjong set holds something more than a game. It holds the nights that ran long, the hands played, the sisters across the table. Our hand-painted display box was made to be worthy of all of it — and to make your set complete.

This box was never meant to simply store your tiles. It was made for one set and one set only — designed alongside your Mahjong Sisterhood tiles and mat so the whole collection shares a single visual language from the start. It doesn't pair with an off-the-shelf set, because it was never meant to. Box, tiles, and mat are made to go together, and made only by Mahjong Sisterhood.

Painted to your sorority

Each box is painted to order, drawn directly from the colors, images, and icons of your chapter's Mahjong Sisterhood set. Nothing is generic and nothing is repeated. The palette on the lid is the palette on your tiles; the icons echo the ones you play with. It's symbiotic by design — painted for your Mahjong Sisterhood set alone, and available together with the tiles and mat from a single source: Mahjong Sisterhood.

And because sisterhood shows itself in different ways, the choice is yours: feature your Greek letters proudly across the front or let your colors and icons speak softly to those in the know. Both are beautiful. Either way, it is unmistakably, entirely yours.

Every box is painted by hand, one at a time, by Madeleine Davis — a lovely, mahjong-loving painter from Dallas and a Founding Teammate of Mahjong Sisterhood. She creates these boxes as part of our mission: to grow sisterhood and the connections sisters build with one another, and to enhance the legacy of the set — whether kept for yourself or given as a gift. She hand-paints each box individually, layering colors and techniques to build depth and richness in the design. Nothing is printed. Nothing is repeated. Each box carries her hand and is made for your Mahjong Sisterhood set alone.
